September is upon us, and the end of summer draws closer. Winter is coming, but not before Autumn. I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for Autumn. If House Kain had its own House Words, they just might be “Autumn is coming.”

In any case, we’re not there yet, but the last couple weeks of summer are here and the busy holiday season is ramping up. This is a great time for gamers and a terrible time for gamers’ backlogs. That’s the price of greatness, I suppose.

September is a pretty big month for video games, with some major releases like Gears 5 and Borderlands 3and some big remakes like Final Fantasy VIII and the Spyro Reignited Trilogy. Some neat indie games are also coming out this month like Children of Morta and Untitled Goose Game. And if you’re a fan of sports games, well, September is kind of huge.

Since I’m publishing this piece on September 3rd, a number of these games just released today. We’ll take a look at those first.

Also, this is not an exhaustive list. There are far too many releases, especially on PC, to track them all down. If you know of something exciting coming out in September that isn’t on this list, hit me up on Twitter.
